BDO International is a world wide network of public accounting firms, called BDO Member Firms, serving international clients. Each BDO Member Firm is an independent legal entity in its own country. At 30 September 2003, the 99 BDO Member Firms employed 23,226 professionals in 573 offices throughout Western and Central/Eastern Europe, North and South America, Asia and the South Pacific, and Africa and the Middle East.
Income Global fee income of all BDO Member Firms for the year ending 30 September 2003 totalled ˆ 2,301 million (US$ 2,668 million).

Background BDO International was founded in Europe in 1963 when forward-thinking accountancy firms from the UK, Germany, The Netherlands, USA and Canada joined to form the Binder Seidman International Group. Ten years later, the European member firms took on the common name of Binder Dijker Otte & Co: BDO. The current world wide structure of the network was put in place in 1988, including the use of the BDO acronym before member firms’ names, and the implementation of the BDO logo and corporate identity. In 2004, BDO International continues to expand, and currently has representation in 99 countries.
